Ernst Sachs and Karl Fichtel in 1895 founded the company as "Schweinfurt Precision Ball Bearing Fichtel & Sachs" and initially manufactured ball bearings and bicycle hubs. After the development of the famous torpedo freewheel hub with coaster brake by Ernst Sachs the company grew quickly. Fichtel & Sachs was one of the world's leading companies in rolling bearings and bicycle hubs before the first world war. Another shift in development came during the transition to armament during the war, when the number of employees increased from 5,000 to 8,000.
In 1915 they were commanded by Berlin to make 98/05 bayonets, in the beginning 20 pieces per day. In total, almost 200,000 were produced and production ended in 1919.
The push button and leaf spring in the sheath work 100%
