Very rare oil or petroleum-fired antique Samovar from the Soviet Empire (pre-Soviet Union/pre-USSR) This very rare tea machine with a truly beautiful patina, consists of a large ornate kettle with a faucet, and is very complete with the original copper teapot. The whole gives a beautiful atmosphere from the beginning of the last century. This very large and heavy solid copper samovar features the original teapot, faucet and petroleum or oil fired reservoir. The samovar itself is used (see, for instance, the calcium deposits on the inside) and in neat used condition with an age-appropriate patina (dents etc., as shown in the pictures), one of the legs (original) has once been re-soldered to the fuel reservoir), a screw is missing on both sides of the handles. The reservoir has some dents and a solder repair, still with the original unused fire cotton. Very decorative set! A samovar, or semaver (Turkish), is a Russian-Turkish tea machine, which consists of a (copper) kettle with a tap, which is placed on a petroleum fire (in this case).
