Biography Wilhelm Schacht Wilhelm Schacht (1872-1951) studied in Leipzig and München, where he eventually took on the realistic style of painting at the school of Barbizon. Some of his work exude a sentimental idyllic emotion. Only in the interwar period, did his style become a little easier, looser and more expressive. Schacht has mainly worked as an established landscape painter and in 1923 co-founder of the "Rothenburger Künstlerbund". For a longer period, Schacht was active in Rothenburg ob der Tauber.
