The here introduced device was produced in Germany at the RHEINISCHEN METALLWAREN- UND MASCHINENFABRIK, department Sömmerda.
In 1936, the company was renamed RHEINMETALL-BORSIG AG.
RHEINMETALL still exists today and is a global arms manufacturer.
The RHEINMETALL mod. 9 was built from 1929. This one, with serial number 33529, stems from 1930.
It has been completely cleaned and and once again shiny polished, defects in the paint were repaired. The ink ribbon still writes (see writing sample). Individual keys jam a little and the ink ribbon transport gets stuck sometimes.
The device is visually and technically in a satisfactory condition, but not perfect. It is a very decorative historical antique. In the scale of 1-6 / very well to poor / it receives a 3.
