Märklin H0 - 3102 - Steam locomotive Series BR 53 with towed tender "Mallet" Borsig with 2smoke channels of the DB. With original packaging and booklet. The booklet for the decoder is also included. Company Number: 53 001. Has been fitted with 2 smoke channels. Readied for installation of 2 smoke generators. For a long time this was the largest steam locomotive manufactured by Märklin. All the functions of the locomotive have been tested. Powered on 7 axles, with a 5 axled tender. All metal construction, a very heavy locomotive with a plastic tender. Deutsche Bundesbahn, ERA III. In 1943 the Deutsche Reichsbahn planned the development of a new (3rd) so-called "Kriegslokomotive". The need to develop a fast freight transport locomotive for long distances arose in 1943. The design submitted by Borsig, consisted of a 4-cylinder Mallet locomotive with an articulated drivetrain. This locomotive was never built. Märklin has based this locomotive on the original design drawings, as a model.
