Review: This book is an ode to a typical Hague phenomenon: The ‘koffietent’. Why these establishments are limited to this city is explained in a historical introduction. This introduction is also the most interesting part of the book. What follows is a series of contributions on the subject with a high 'Carmiggelt’ character by (former) Hague inhabitants. Many contributions are characterised by a rather raw confrontation with Hague humour, washed away with many cups of joe.
