Watch manufactured in Switzerland for Whiteaway Laidlaw of Kolkata (India). Whiteaway, Laidlaw & Co. was a colonial emporium or department store in India. It was founded in 1882 in Kolkata by two Scottish men with the same names and had branches in Bombay, Madras, Lahore and Simla. They manufactured high-quality watches with their own seal, and these are difficult to find nowadays. The watch is in working order and good condition.
