Purchased in Helsinki as soon as it was put on the market, this puukko knife quickly became universally sought after because it was the work of the famous Finnish designer Tapio Wirkkala, who became an icon in the post-war period for his inimitable avant-garde designs. From jewellery to furniture, he designed some of the most popular objects in the world. The knife is 18.5 cm long and has a sharp 8.06 cm stainless steel blade. On the left side you can see the engraving in lighter characters: ‘Hackman Finland Stainless Tapio Wirkkala’. The guard and the pommel are made of solid brass, the finger guard is round and the shaped handle is produced in very hard black nylon. It is complemented by its leather sheath that over time has lost its fastening strap. The blade base is 3 mm thick. Hard to find in this condition, it is offered to all enthusiasts of famous knives.
