Superb unguiform scraper
Size: 7.7 x 5 cm.

Origin France, Oise region
The scraper was a widespread tool from the Paleolithic to the Neolithic. Prehistoric humans probably used it to scrape skins, as the Inuit did in the early 20th century. The tip of a flint blade has been retouched on the front to obtain a very strong end and a more or less circular shape. It was a robust tool that was used to work skins but also to scratch bones, ochre.
