ARTHUR GEORGE RENDELL WW1 Trench Watch c1900s
WW1 Solid 9 kt Gold Trench Watch With Black Dial, Gold Numbers And Hands
Case shows hallmarks and importers initial being A.G.R. for Arthur George Rendell who worked for Robert Pringle & Sons, an important jewellery, silverware, watch and clock wholesaler, located on Clerkenwell Road, London.
The case measures about 32 mm across, not including the crown, so feasibly could be worn by a gentleman or lady.
The dial is in very good condition and numbers are clear. The glass was changed a couple of months ago and mechanism was checked over.
A new leather strap was fitted which measures 210 mm from end to end including case and is about 13 mm across at widest nearest the fixed lugs.
The case is well hallmarked and the back has a double cover and two pairs of hinges. There is a 375 stamp to case near the crown. Although I have listed as 'yellow gold' is does have an almost 'rose gold' tint to it. Inside the case is A.G.R. and the letter 'b'
Please note that 9 kt gold is below the level required in some countries
