Nice 100% original Full-size (3 inch) Aircrew wing, from approximately 1943 with the characteric short clutch back pins that are typical of ww2 produced examples and the clutch type that are dated 1943 according to extensive research. The first version of the Aircrew Badge was issued by the Army Air Forces during the Second World War. The badge was similar in design to the Aviator Badge, however, and displayed an emblem denoting enlisted status on its circular shield, or escutcheon, centered between two wings. The emblem featured the arms of the United States of America, in clear relief generally against a horizontally lined background, on a disk with a raised rim. The clutch fasteners dates this wing to 1943 (see attached screenshot). The clutch and pins on the back are fully functional, a very nice wing for your collection.
