The travels to exotic places are the subject of this book, edited by Henry Walter Bates, world traveler and assistant secratery of the royal Geographic Society. Very interesting. Externally wear on corners and edges, stains on boards with still bright gilt-see photos as part of description. Inside very good, light foxing but mostly clean. Probably books stored in a wet place so inside a little wet odour...no signs of mould. Uncommon and RARE volumes. Heavy books.
