Nice and authentic samurai very long sword from the muromachi period in koshirae with certificate. This sword is a clear example of a muromachi period Koto sword with some kizus caused by the differential tempering of the tamahagane steel and its folding. Nevertheless it retains an antique polish where the hamon is clearly visible. The blade shows hardly any rust but some stains and scratches due to the passing of the centuries. A very interesting sword for those who want to acquire an antique koto blade with history. A warranty certificate is enclosed. The koshirae is preserved in quite good condition with a saya with a leather finish, an iron tsuba and a tsuka with brown leather and genuine stingray skin. It seems that part of the koshirae has been completely replaced during the last two centuries. Blade is in fair condition due to aging. Not hagire and not fatal damage, of course. This is a japanese weapon so have a real historical value. This is a weapon with centuries, not machine crafted so can be minor movements of saya, tsuka, tsuba, habbaki, etc. Because of dilatation, humidity, etc. and little damages propers of his age like small rust, scratches, etc. Sold as is.
