In a worldwide first, he reconfigured a pneumatic robot arm to extrude furniture from recycled plastic. The first series consisted of gently tinted plastic threads, built up shakily to form 3D tapestries. A mal-aligned motor imparted a scalloped pattern, though was also responsible for the unlikely tacitly of the technique. This chair was made as part of the Endless Chair's second generation, and is made from a stronger and cleaner plastic than very early versions of the chair. The scalloped patterning has been exaggerated for enhanced textural effect. Having lived in the Kooij archive for close to a decade, the chair does carry some bumps and scratches. Overall, the chair is impressively strong and durable, ready for a lifetime of use. This Endless Chair is dining height. #masterlyhomage #SS24
