Old original Jingasa Samurai Helmet with gold makie family crest. An Edo period jingasa adorned with the family crest. Jingasa: It is worn to protect the head as a substitute for a helmet and has a flat conical shape. The material is wood, and the surface is coated with lacquered gold plating. "Jingasa" is a hat that foot soldiers and miscellaneous soldiers used in the camp from the Muromachi period onwards. It was worn to protect the head as a substitute for a helmet.
