PREMIUM QUALITY. Magnificent pair of large Otodus obliquus shark teeth in excellent condition, WITHOUT FILLING OR HEAVY RECONSTRUCTION. 6 cm one and 5'8 cm the other.
These teeth are scientifically classified. They belong to the upper-lateral jaw, positions 3 and 4 (see images for reference).
One of them has a small restoration on the crown, but it is only glued, without the typical filling that most of these teeth have. The other one is 100% complete and undamaged. See photographs to get an idea of the condition.
LOCATION Oued Zem, Morocco
FORMATION Ouled Abdoun Basin (Phosphate beds)
Otodus obliquus was one of the first giant sharks that ever existed, with teeth up to 10 cm. It was the ancestor of Otodus Megalodon, the largest shark that has ever existed and with which it shares a gender.
The size of these teeth indicates that this shark must have been an incredible marine macro-predator.
