Kæmpe PREMIUM makrelHAJTÆNDER - Fossile tænder - Otodus obliquus - 6.1 cm (Ingen mindstepris)
PREMIUM QUALITY. Magnificent pair of large Otodus obliquus shark teeth in excellent condition, WITHOUT HEAVY RECONSTRUCTION. 6.1 cm on one and 5'8 cm on the other.
These teeth are scientifically classified. They belong to the lower-lateral jaw, positions 2 and 3 (see images for reference).
They have a small restoration on the root, but it is very light, nothing close to the big restorations normally seen on teeth of this size. See photographs to get an idea of the condition.
LOCATION Oued Zem, Morocco
FORMATION Ouled Abdoun Basin (Phosphate beds)
Otodus obliquus was one of the first giant sharks that ever existed, with teeth up to 10 cm. It was the ancestor of Otodus Megalodon, the largest shark that has ever existed and with which it shares a gender.
The size of these teeth indicates that this shark must have been an incredible marine macro-predator.
