The box is in excellent condition and the key is missing. Japanese origin Here is the fascinating story of Pedro LLibre: Pedro Llibre, is remembered as one of Barcelona's most distinguished and popular confectioners. He opened his own luxury confectionery shop in 1872, the "Casa Llibre". This shop was strategically located on the corner of Calle Fernando and Rambla del Centro, which made it a point of reference for confectionery lovers. Progressively, Mr. Pere Llibre, apart from selling sweets and gift boxes that already attracted attention because of their original presentation, began to exhibit and successfully sell art objects, bronzes and furniture in his confectionery shop. When he saw how lucrative the business was, he decided to open a new shop specialising in objets d'art. Thanks to this strategy, Casa Llibre became an iconic place in Barcelona, where customers could enjoy the delicious sweets and admire the unique antiques offered by the shop. Over time, this establishment became an emblematic meeting place for Barcelona's high society, popularly known as "la Esquina de Llibre" (Llibre's Corner). It was frequented by a whole host of celebrities. Later, in November 1883, in view of his success, he was forced to expand his business by opening a new, elegant shop selling antiques, objets d'art and luxury furniture in a five-storey building a few metres from his confectioner's shop in Calle Fernando. Period: 19th century Measurements Height 7 cm Base 30 x 22,5 cm Weight 0,589 kg Observations: In good condition, the key is missing.
