Typology : Pointed Chopping Tool.
Material : Flint.
Cutting : Made on a flint pebble, few large parts were cut to create the pointed shape, the base was cut.
Dating, hominid : This implement belongs to the Acheulean Culture ( Lower Paleolithic period, circa 400 000 - 800 000 years ago), and was conceived by Homo HEIDELBERGENSIS (European Erectus).
Origin : Found in the Grand Pressigny Area, "terrace of the Creuse river", France (37).
Sizes : 16 cm X 13 cm.
Condition : Very well preserved. Beautiful Patina.
Remarks : One of the oldest tool on the Grand Pressigny region.
Nice piece for the paleo lovers !
Acquired in 2021 from Mr. Z. private collector, collected since the 70's.
