In Japan, you often see Niomon gates, where statues of Nio are standing on either side of the entrance gates of temples.
It represents its character as a guardian deity that prevents enemies of Buddhism from entering the temple.
Wood core dry lacquer construction is a work in which the outline of the work is carved out of wood, a linen cloth is pasted on top of this, and the work is completed by applying makko lacquer or mokuto lacquer.
