Offered is a massive 3.4 kg thigh bone fossil (femur) of a steppe bison (Bison priscus), see picture for the exact place in the skeleton, found in Germany, in good condition! The bone is solid! and about 150.000 years old (ice ages). This bone was found in the region of Darmstadt.
The steppe bison (Bos priscus) is an extinct species of bison. It is the ancestor of the American bison and the European bison. This wild cattle was also widespread in Europe during the last glacial period in the Pleistocene until it disappeared about 12000 years ago.
