A late Qing dynasty (possibly Jiaqing period) to early Republic period Yixing teapot in 巨轮珠 Julunzhu Style. The thinly potted teapot is made of a clay called huangjin duan clay 原矿黄金段 which fires a golden tone. It has a single poring hole.
Marked at the bottom with two character mark: 味泉 Weiquan

In the late 20th century, when Gu Jingzhou was invited to appreciate the zisha collection of the Palace Museum in Beijing, he pointed out that the "Weiquan marked black sand bamboo knot style teapot" in the collection, was dating from the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty, so it can be speculated that Weiquan should be a famous potter during the Jiaqing period.
顾景舟 Gù Jǐngzhōu (18 October 1915 in Yixing, Jiangsu – 3 June 1996) was a Chinese ceramic artist who specialized in the creation of zisha-ware teapots. He was a founder and Deputy Director of Research and Technology at the Number One Yixing Factory.
