Remarkable landscape painting for Mt. Hourai which like a fairyland.
Artist: Fujishima Kasen藤島華仙(1866-1929). A disciple of Fukushima Yanagiba福島柳圃. He was born in the 2nd year of the Keio era in Numatakura Village, Tone District, Ueno Province (present-day Gunma Prefecture). His real name is Tokushirō. His names were Toshimi, Naiyanagi, and Hanasen. He loved painting from an early age, and at the age of 12 he studied under Suizan Aoyama青山翠山 and mastered Nansouga. He later moved to Tokyo and studied genre painting under Yoshitoshi Tsukioka月岡芳年, studied under Eiryo Kobayashi, and learned painting techniques from Eiryo. He was recognized and became his adopted heir. Furthermore, he studied under Kubota Beisen久保田米僊 and developed the Beisen school of painting techniques. He was selected for the Bunten twice and exhibited his works at various exhibitions, expositions, and exhibitions, winning silver, bronze, and medals, and was instrumental in the development of the Chukyo art world.
