NOTE PARKER 94/100 Created after the Second World War, the Jacques Selosse house in Avize has been run since 1974 by Anselme, Jacques' son, with the help of his son Guillaume. Their champagnes have established themselves among the most renowned in the region, reaching a rare perfection. They are thus extremely popular with amateurs and praised by critics. With eight hectares of vineyards, the estate produces less than 60,000 bottles per year. The vineyard is worked from a biodynamic perspective, while having chosen not to ask for certification, and thus keep greater freedom when needed. The vines are grassed and worked with the plough and horse. The wines, raised in barrels, are really exciting to taste and show character, but they can surprise neophytes who are not used to this style of champagne.
