europæisk bronzealder Bronze Klokkeformet vedhæng (Ingen mindstepris)

An unusual bronze bell-shaped pendant with a superb green-tone patina, dating to the European Bronze Age. The pendant has a suspension loop at the top, a ribbed stem, and a flared hollow base. There is a small chip to the rim and some light green oxidation around the base of the suspension loop. European Bronze Age farmers differed from their stone-cutting predecessors – they used horses and chariots to work; kept flocks of sheep for woollen clothing; and used bronze as a standard commodity of exchange. Technological development was rapid; the manufacture of tools and weapons increased; and specialised equipment emerged for shaving, woodworking, and metalworking. At the same time, advancements in decorative arts were also gaining momentum. Crafters of jewellery, accesories, and other personal adornments utilised the versitility of bronze to explore new styles and forms. Measurements: Circa L 4.2cm x W 1.6cm Provenance: Ex JL private collection, Surrey, UK
