In two volumes. Three quarter vellum with blue paper covered hardback boards. Bright gilt titles to spine, gilt coat of arms to front boards of both volumes. Boards are only lightly handled, however the vellum on the spines of both have dried out and started to split at the head of each volume. Volume II is worse than Volume I - see photos. Numbered and signed by the publisher on the limitation page in Volume I. Limited to 350 copies. Dedication - to front of Volume I - shows these books were a gift to Maarten Maartens - the Dutch prose writer and poet Jozua Marius Willem van der Poorten Schwartz. Frontis portrait to each, with tissue guards. Some offsetting from frontispieces. Numerous b/w photographs and illustrations throughout. Sporadic foxing in both volumes, but mostly clean and fresh inside. Volume I: xxxviii, 39 - 307 pp. Volume II: viii, 300 pp. Repeat of dedication from Volume I is repeated at the rear of the book - upside down!
