This serene hand-carved statue beautifully captures Prince Shōtoku at the tender age of two, a pose based on the legendary tale of him praying towards the east and invoking the blessings of the Buddha with the words "Namu Butsu". The name of Yoshimichi is etched at the back, serving as a seal of authenticity. While the statue shows signs of wear with minor scratches and slight stains indicative of its age, it remains in good condition and continues to exude a sense of calm and devotion.
