First and Second Series within one volume. Richly illustrated with 80 colour plates (40 per Volume), printed on quality papers, by Thorburn, and others; more like finished paintings than prints. Several black and white in-text drawings. Illustrated capital letter to each chapter head.
Published by Cassell and Company Limited, London, 1903. Publishers’ original half leather with blue texture boards. Spine with five gilt decorated bands, the titles are in gilt within red label to compartments two.
Book Dimensions: 20 x 14 and Number of Pages: 160, 160
Condition
Some scuffing to the external covers, with wear to boards’ corners, edges, and head and tail of spines. Internally; the book in very good condition. Some text with pencil on top title page. Inner hinges are very good, and pages are tightly held at gutters. Pages are healthy, and clean with occasional foxing marks. The plates are bright and fresh (Please see pictures).
