Alan Weston - Pontoon Footbridge, Fowey#5

Pontoon Footbridge, Fowey #5 Beautiful original oil painting on a large canvas painting by Alan Weston. This is one of a series of “Ripples “ studies of the creeks and coves of the South Cornwall coast. It perfectly captures the ceaseless ebb and flow of the water and will enhance and be a focal point of your home. Alan was inspired to start this series of paintings when He became aware of the bizarre patterns that appear and instantly disappear instantly on the surface of relatively calm water. They are caused by the interplay of light, shade, wind and nearby objects ( boats, rocks, harbour walls etc.) to name but a few. The state of the tide is also relevant. Choppy water reminiscent of globs of green glass can change into silvery liquid metal when the tide turns. He takes great delight in seeking out new material on his travels in the U.K., the Far East and the U.S. He prefers painting on a hard surface, rather than canvas, and usually makes the wood panels himself to his own specifications. Three coats of acrylic gesso are applied before the oil painting commences. The painting is in Excellent condition and direct from the artist’s studio in Cornwall, Signed with initials on the front and a Certificate of Authenticity will accompany the artwork. The painting size is 80cm x 60cm, The artworks are packed with the utmost care and shipped registered with a tracking code within 3 working days after payment. Alan Weston is a self-taught fine artist and also a graduate of Falmouth School of Art & Design where he studied Graphic Design. He currently living and working in the historic town of Lostwithiel in Cornwall, UK. Alan has worked for major UK, US and European book publishers, illustrating education books. He has worked on private and commercial mural projects in the US, Australia and Asia and his paintings are in private collections worldwide. Alan has written an article for an art magazine and was 2015 International Artist at the Great Gulfcoast Art Festival, Pensacola, USA.
