Stand - Perlemor, Træ - Japan (Ingen mindstepris)

Beautiful wooden Tsugaru Lacquerware - Display stand with beautiful surface inlaid with mother of pearl. The natural design of the scroll feet makes the stand very stable. It is very useful in your daily life. Tsugaru Lacquerware (known as Tsugaru Lacquerware in Japanese) is produced near Hirosaki City in Aomori Prefecture. Lacquerware has been produced in the area since the middle of the Edo period (1603-1868), but it wasn't until 1873, when it was exhibited at the Vienna World's Fair, that it began to be called Tsugaru Lacquerware. Today, Tsugaru lacquerware is used as a general term for traditional lacquerware produced in the Tsugaru area. The distinctive features of Tsugaru lacquerware are its practicality, durability and highly refined appearance. The unique togidashi kawari nuri technique makes the beautiful multi-layered coloured lacquer patterns stand out. The lacquer is applied dozens of times to a base made of Tsugaru cypress. This process was repeated for two months to produce strong, thick and beautiful lacquerware. A variety of coating techniques were developed during the Edo period, including those still in use today. Some of these techniques are kara nuri, which is standard, nabeko nuri, which uses small patterns, monsha nuri, which uses charcoal and black lacquer to give a stylish impression, and nishiki-nuri, which has intricate patterns and requires advanced skills. Dimensions: 48.5 x 30 x 6.5 cm Good condition: there are stains, scratches and wear off due to aging and using, please also take a look at the listed photos for a reference. Will be well packaged and shipping by Japan Post in fast delivery.
