A Rare and Beautiful Gandhara Head of Bodhisattva, 2nd-4th Century AD H13.7×W8.5×D5.4 cm (H20 cm with stand) Roman Gandhara statues represent a fascinating fusion of cultures. These artifacts, found in the Gandhara region of modern-day Pakistan and Afghanistan, depict Greco-Roman features combined with Buddhist iconography. Crafted during the early centuries CE, they showcase the exchange of ideas along the Silk Road. Provenance: Acquired from a private collection in 1982, Paris Condition: Some abrasion and scratches caused by age. Overall surface is covered with soil. Residue around the nose can be seen under UV light. The nose was broken and repaired. The right earlobe was partially broken and repaired.
