Anders Petersen - Soho - 2012

1st Edition 2012 - MACK, London. Embossed linen hardcover with tipped-in print on back cover. 124 pages, black and white photos. Out-of-print, collectible item in excellent condition. Part of the publishers rare book collection. ABOUT THE BOOK: As part of a series of off-site artist commissions supported by Bloomberg, Petersen was invited by The Photographers’ Gallery to undertake a four-week residency in London. Turning his gaze to the streets of Soho, Petersen produced a series which is both penetrating and sensitive to his subjects. His intimate, diaristic style of coarse black and white photography captures the essence of today's Soho while drawing you back into the depths of its history. ABOUT THE ARTIST: Petersen was born in 1944 in Stockholm, Sweden. In 1966, he studied at Christer Strömholm's School of Photography in Stockholm. A year later, he began photographing the Café Lehmitz in Hamburg, which launched his photography career. He was awarded Photographer of the Year in 2003 from the International Photofestival in Arles. Petersen continues to live and work in Stockholm. ABOUT THE PUBLISHER: MACK is an independent publisher of award-winning books on visual art and architecture.
