He was selected for the Nitten in 1937 with "Cold Current", and 15 times since. He established his own nishikitsuke processing company in 1938, and Shumeigama in 1949. He has won many awards, including the Japan Ceramic Art Exhibition prize and the Japan New Crafts Exhibition Japan New Crafts Award.
