Clarence Bicknell (1842-1918) - Athragene alpina - botanical watercolour in arts-and-crafts style

High quality art print approx 12×16 inches (260x340mm) of the botanical watercolour by Clarence Bicknell (1842-1918). This is one of the 60 images created by the botanist, archaeologist, artist, Esperantist and philanthropist in 1906 for his Casa Fontanalba Visitors’ Book. This was his summer house high in the Alps on the border between France and Italy overlooking the Mediterranean. He spent winters in Bordighera nearby on the coat where he created the Bicknell Museum and other institutions. This print is also available signed by one of the celebrities supporting the Woodland Trust to whom the net proceeds of your purchase are donated by the Bicknell Family Collection and the Clarence Bicknell Association; please get in touch for more details. There are 100 numbered prints, of various flowers, signed by each. You can purchase the print framed or unframed; the one offered her is unframed. Reproduction is by state-of-the-art digital offset lithographs on an eight-colour Komori Lithrone LS-829 with H-UV by The Indigo Press in Southampton. Each print is on 150gsm uncoated card and machine-sealed. The Alison Kingsgate frame has shatterproof styrene perspex making it especially suitable for offices and homes with children and the elderly. This perspex has the same clarity of glass, but more durable and safer than traditional glass, and can therefore be shipped to you at reasonable prices. The width of the frame moulding is 25mm and the depth 18mm (approximate). Card mounts of 1.4 mm thickness hold the print in place under the perspex and can carry an optional caption.
