Sengen Sasaki (1804-1879)
Culture 2 Born in Kanazawa. Kaga clan's favorite painter. The eldest son of Izumikage Sasaki. His childhood name was Ainosuke, later Miyauchi. His name was Morisada, later Moriko. He has Harumei and Ippaku Koji in separate issues. He studied under Tsurusawa Tansen in Kyoto. In the 5th year of the Bunsei era, at the age of 18, he worked with his father on the construction of Takezawa Palace, and after that he worked on many orders for the Kaga domain. In the fifth year of Tenpo, he was conferred the rank of Hōkyō. In the first year of the Kaei era, when his father passed away at the age of 44, he inherited his father's estate. In the 5th year of the Kaei era, he received the rank of Hogen. He retired in the 3rd year of Meiji. He died in 1898 at the age of 75.
The tip of the hanging scroll is made of ceramic, but one side is missing.
The picture part of the hanging scroll is in good condition.
