Precious Samurai Naginata Kanetsune NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon
Kanetsune was a swordsmith clan prospered in Mino province.
It is said that the founder was in the Senjuin clan in Yamato province.
Shimouchi is the name of a place in present Seki city in Gifu pref.
In Mino school, there are many famous sword makers.
Magoroku Kanemoto, Izumikami Kanesada and Kanetsune are the top ranking sword smith.
Kanetsune make's mosly Katana and spears but Naginata are very rare from his hands.
The works of Kanetsune are very precious and was famous for the sharpness.
This blade is appraised as a Tokubetsu Hozon Token(特別保存刀剣) issued by NBTHK(Nihon Bijutsu Touken Hozon Kyokai:日本美術刀剣保存協会). This authentication paper was only given to authentic Japanese swords, especially well preserved and high quality with artistic value.
