- Toth is the Egyptian god of the moon, magic, the calender, writing and wisdom. Two holy animals were associated with Toth, the Ibis and the Baboon.
The association with the Baboon was born because the Baboon was the symbol of the rising sun and the origin of creation. The Baboon makes a shrill noise at sunrise at which they announced a new day.
