A very rare egyptian solid bronze statuette of the goddes Nekhbet. The goddess striding forward with her left leg advanced, left hand clasping a staff now missing, right arm pendant at her side,. She wears a tightly-fitted ankle-length sheath that accentuates the form of her body beneath. Nekhbet also wears a beaded necklace on her neck and a vulture headdress, fronted by a uraeus Nekhbet was an early predynastic local goddess in Egyptian mythology.Later she became the patron of Upper Egypt and one of the two patron deities for all of Ancient Egypt when it was unified.
