Fad - Porcelæn

Bing & Grøndahl was a Danish porcelain manufacturer founded in 1853, famed throughout the world for the quality of its handmade porcelain. In 1987 the company merged with the Royal Porcelain Factory under the name Royal Copenhagen. For sale, a fine, substantial hand-painted piece of Danish underglazed porcelain with a maritime theme. This rare dish is decorated with a ship's anchor with nautical rope, in blue, grey and beige nuances with vibrant colours. It is in used, but essentially mint condition, without cracks, chips or repairs, in "factory first condition". It is fully marked with the trademark backstamp for Bing & Grøndahl (B&G) showing three towers derived from the Coat of Arms of Copenhagen, and design mark no. 2377. The trademark includes B&G and Kjøbenhavn, Denmark in green, and a larger B&G in blue. This combination dates the dish to the period 1948-1952. Designed by Svend Jespersen, it measures 22 cm x 20 cm, and up to approx. 4cm in height. The dish is food-safe, ideal for serving fish or shellfish. A great addition to any maritime collection, for use on board ship, in the living room, kitchen, cafe or restaurant. I always pack with great care (see reviews) and send with insurance and tracking.
