Silvio Vigliaturo was born in Acri (Cosenza, Italy) in 1949.
When he was a child, he moved to Chieri (Turin), where he currently lives and works. He is a master of glass melting and his technique is internationally appreciated and considered unique in its form by the most important critics of Italian and international art.
Labelled as Homo Faber, his works are first designed, then interpreted and experienced by a constant symbiotic relationship between the spirit and the industriality, consciousness and craftsmanship, creativity and visual penetration.
In 2006, it was chosen by city of Turin as the only artistic sign for the Olympic Winter Games, the inauguration took place of the MACA - the Civic Contemporary Art Museum Silvio Vigliaturo. In 2008, the artist was named as the reference in the world of the UNICAL, University of Calabria.
