Iconic La Rioja Alta 890 from my personal collection always kept in pristine conditions. Only 7100 bottles of this rare wine. Very good 1959 vintage in Rioja Alta. Ready to drink or lay up for the next 15+ years.
VINEYARDS AND GRAPES
All the grapes for this wine were sourced from vineyards within the Rioja Alta, particularly from around Rodezno, Villalba, Brinas and Labastida. 90% Tempranillo and the balance Mazuelo and Graciano.
AGEING
The wine spent between 12-18 months in large (225l) cellar- foundational grey oak vats were the malolactic fermentaton and estabilization occurs. Additional 84 months into casks. The wine was bottled, unfiltered with additional 74 months resting in the cellar before market release.
