Apple FIRST 1984 APPLE GAME "ALICE, THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS" - Macintosh - I original æske

Today I have something that is on the "Want List" for many Apple aficionados but usually stays on the Want List because a copy of this software never comes up for sale. If it does, it goes for an “It’s Not for Sale” amount of money. But again. This is a wise investment! >> This is the so-called "Holy Grail of vintage Apple Software” … and I definitely will regret (one day) that I even offered it for sale! Sadly I need the money … so I really hope this treasure gets a good home. PS/ if the item is not sold on the first attempt, than I think it's a sign … that I should keep it. Thus: I only will offer this item "this week" for auction. Spread the word! // WHO THE F*CK IS ALICE? "Through the Looking Glass", also known as "Alice", was the first game ever released for the Apple Macintosh. The 1984 video game was written for the "Apple Lisa" and "Apple Macintosh" computers. It was written by "Steve Capps", a member of the Lisa and Mac teams and it was the only games disk officially sold by Apple Computer during that era. Steve Jobs insisted that Apple publish the game themselves, rather than through a third party publisher. Apple published the game in 1984, but it did not receive the marketing push that Jobs had promised as Apple was trying to make the Mac look like a serious computer (and not a game computer). The rest is history. There was "no big sale" and only a few where sold … especially in Europe) … and that makes this box UNIQUE. And who knows how little working games are still here (anno 2024)? Originally developed for the Apple Lisa under the name "Alice," the player takes the title role from Lewis Carroll's 1865 novel Alice in Wonderland, opposed by the computer playing a complete set of chess players. Alice moves about the board in realtime and attempts to capture the computer's pieces, while at the same time avoiding the computer's attempts to capture her. // MUSEUM PIECE AND FINE INVESTMENT The scarce and desirable Apple game "Through the Looking Glass" is remembered as the FIRST video game on the Mac platform. The floppy disk is contained in its original box, resembling an antique book. The condition go the whole box is "very good" to even "excellent" (and for my experience I would say nearly "perfect" or "mint"). You can check the detailed pictures to form your own judgment. Bhytheway. What's even better? The floppy (game) works! I tested it on my Mac 512k and Mac Plus computers. Can you image? This is a 40 YEARS old floppy !!! See detailed pictures to see the good working of the floppy. // What is auctioned? A 3.5 inch disk mounted in a box representing a traditionally bound book. Format: Magnetic carrier, Floppy disk, 3.5 inch Be aware: only the box is sold (without computers or other accessories). They are on some pictures for demonstration purposes only.
