Hank Harrison - The Dead Book, A social history of the Greatful Dead (incl. 33 1/3 soundsheet with voice Neal - 1973
Facts and observations are woven into the book by the author, Hank Harrison, who managed the Dead briefly very early on, which is masked in his "unique" style.
Hank Harrison (b. 1941 - d. 2022) was an author who was involved in the Haight-Ashbury scene of the 1960s and became the first manager of The Grateful Dead when they were known as The Warlocks. Mostly he's remembered for chronicling the Grateful Dead and this book is considered the first such text to do and with an insider's perspective.
Included is a flexi-disc recording of Neal Cassady speaking at the opening of the Straight Theatre in 1967 to a jeering crowd with the Dead performing behind him, one of the author's final such performances.
Illustrated wrappers.
Original flexi-disc is intact and unplayed inside back cover
