The name of Marcasite is derived from an Arabic word which is used for Pyrite and which has sparkles all around.
This gemstone is made up of iron sulphides.
Marcasite is known as a brittle stone which can crumble in easy way and is quite lighter than that of pyrite. It reveals yellow hue and somewhat brassy texture.

Marcasite is quite interesting mineral which is made up of iron. The scientific formula of this talisman is FeS2. This crystal is also known as Iron Sulfide. It is also closely linked with Pyrite and is also considered as polymorph. The polymorph happens frequently in minerals world. For example, Pyrite and Marcasite is well composed of the same chemicals but the only difference between these is their chemical structures that are different from each other.
