Verenigde Staten van Amerika - Set of WW2 Time magazine General MacArthur Cover issues - Surrender of Japan - Atomic Bomb employment - End of WW2 - 27 August - 1944-1945
Offered for auction is the rare 27 Aug 1945 issue of TIME magazine, specifically featuring the surrender of the Japanese forces, the first use of the atomic BOMB and with a particular emphasis on the most important commander of the Allied pacific forces, GENERAL MACARTHUR. MacArthur is beautifully caricatured on the front cover by the famous artist ERNEST HAMLIN BAKER. See photo's of the content of the magazine; it is complete and in nice condition. These pony editions would have been distributed specifically to the army personel in Europe and the pacific.
This is a really difficult to find issue with GENERAL MACARTHUR on the cover (with a focus of his army on the pacific front and how Japan was beaten) which will be a nice addition for your WW2 collection!
