“Very harmonious, this Saint-Émilion Grand Cru releases velvety tannins and offers explosive aromas of black fruits on the palate. It has it all: finesse, harmony, intensity, and depth. This wine is a testament to the collaboration between manager Nicolas Thienpont and consulting oenologist Stéphane Derenoncourt. This wine is crafted with the utmost care from vineyard work to bottling. The château operates according to very environmentally respectful principles without seeking certification: herbal teas, decoctions, infusions, composts, controlled yields, no herbicides… A few modern techniques enhance the wine’s aromatic expression: micro-oxygenation, which involves the addition of oxygen at key stages of vinification. The aging process is conducted in 50% new barrels for 16 to 20 months. This wine has excellent aging potential, and as the Bettane & Desseauve Guide puts it, ‘it is never as good as after ten years…’ A true must-have for Saint-Émilion enthusiasts.”
