Absolutely stunning antique family bible. A beautifully illustrated large leather-bound family Bible. Antique Bible Rev Brown's Self-Interpreting Family Brass Clasps Antique c1870. In good used antique condition, some foxing and personalised inscriptions as to be expected from a family bible. Spine and hard cover in pretty good condition for age. The protective brass binding is missing a couple of pins so is loose. Bible of over 150 years of age remarkable condition for the age, gilt edged pages the illustrations are beautiful and clear the pages are easy to read, all in all a lovely antique bible. Family History pages have been written in by the original owners. There has been a repair done inside the front cover with black tape to stop the front cover from splitting and the spine is holding together well with no signs of splitting (probably due to that extra support). I always support the covers when opening. The back cover leather is in great condition. Antique Bible with both old and new testaments - Gilded brass ornate clasps in working order, brass protection edges on the covers (back cover loose) and gold edge pages. There is very little foxing, the pages are discoloured from time however they are clear and the type is clear and easy to read. A very handsome edition of the Holy Bible with a tooled leather cover featuring beautiful ornate brass clasps, full of illustrations throughout including charming detailed colour pictures. This is in large quarto size with gilded page edges and crisply printed text which is clear and easy to read. There is a special section for family genealogical information, making it ready for you to do add your family and bless your loved ones by placing them in this book.
