DESCRIPTION Beautiful shape and fabric inprinting pattern ceramic vase. Excellent condition Motohiko Ito was born in 1939 in Fukuoka Prefecture. He completed his studies in the Ceramics Department of the Fine Arts Faculty and the Graduate School of Ceramics at Tokyo University of the Arts. After studying under Kosei Matsui, a Living National Treasure ceramist, he established his own kiln in the current location in Kasama City, Ibaraki Prefecture. Starting with his first exhibition at the 20th Japan Traditional Craft Exhibition in 1973, he began presenting works using the Nunome technique (fabric imprinting), and has since consistently continued to develop his work with painting centered on themes of flowers and plants. Ito has created a unique world of works through the soft and moist touch of his painting and the shape of his vessels, continuously improving the Nunome technique. In 1999 (Heisei 11), he was awarded the Purple Ribbon Medal for his outstanding achievements in artistic creation. NOITICE The lot will be carefully packaged and sent with registered post.
