Born in 1907 in Sagae-cho, Nishimurayama-gun, Yamagata Prefecture.
In 1928, he was selected for the first time at the Japan Creative Print Exhibition
(日本創作版画展).
Until around 1938, he produced print posters at the Nikke (Japanese woolen) advertising department in Marunouchi, Tokyo. Make a Nikke character "Kobo".
Opened solo exhibition “Gihachi / Marunouchi Landscape Private Exhibition” in 1929
Died in October 1981 at the age of 74. 1998 The survivor was commissioned by the Victoria and Albert Museum of the British Royal Family to exhibit a Nikke poster
In his later years, he has drawn many black and white woodblock print.
