A selection of four Luristan cast bronze arrowheads, of varying shapes and sizes, but all featuring a leaf-shaped blade and flat tang. Of the four triangular blades, two feature a central raised mid-rib while the other two present a flattened mid-rib. One of the tangs has been pierced for suspension. The pieces are covered in a beautiful blue-green patina and some earthly encrustations. There is some damage to the edges of the blades. Luristan objects are for the majority bronze cast items decorated with bronze sculptures and there have been many discovered in the Lorestān Province. Excavated items often included weapons, tools, and finials, as well as small amulets and fittings. Everyday objects are also found including pins and bracelets. Archaeological evidence suggests that the Luristan bronze objects often serve ceremonial functions given their funerary contexts. Measurements: Circa L 8.6-19 cm, W 2.2-2.7 cm Provenance: Ex.
